Best and worst dry shampoos and DIY

Wednesday, April 2

Hello everyone!

Today i´m doing a little sum up of my the best and worst dry shampoos that i´ve tried and show you how to do your own!

By far my favorite one is the oribe but since it´s a little pricey and i don´t always have the money for it i have found some other ones like the psssst! and the batiste one but for my convenience i like the batiste that is for brunettes or the not your mothers which doesn´t work that well like the other that i just mentioned but it leaves less of that white residue.

The worst that i´ve tried is the tresemme one which is weird because they always make really good products, i guess this dry shampoo is the exception i even gave it to my sister and she hated it.

now let´s move to the DIY part

1/4 cup cornstarch
essential oil ( this is optional)

mix the ingredients together and store it on a jar.

2 tsp cocoa powder
2 tsp cornstarch
essential oil ( optional)

mix the ingredients together and store it on a jar.

This is not an actual recipe but this is what works best for me (i´m brunette) because it doesn´t leave any residue and works very well also it´s really cheap.

are you ready??

Yes! baby powder , haha it works very well.

Have you tried any of this? leave on the comments below.

Fixing a bad hair dye

Thursday, February 27

Hi guys!
Today i´m here to write a little of something that have happened to all of us at least once "a bad hair dye" so i´m going to tell you a few ways to change it, let´s begin.

1.Hair that got too dark (method 1)
Mix a few vitamin C tablets with your shampoo until you get a paste. apply it on damp hair and cover it, leave it for 40 minutes, rinse and condition.
note: this won´t take all the dye from your hair but you´ll get a softer color.

Method 2
Make a paste with 1/2 cup of baking soda and 1/2 cup water. Massage it into your hair and let it sit for 15 minutes, then rinse with hot water. Repeat as many times as you'd like.

2.Hair got orange/ coppery
If your hair was brown and you want to go back to it dye it again with an ash color, if you want to get blonde then you should tone it.

And now i´m gonna tell you a few ways to strip the color out of your hair

1.you can use something like L'Oreal's Color Zap or the pravanna hair color extractor for a really intense stripping.
2.Anti-dandruff shampoo- use it for a few washes, it works very well.
3.bleach bath-mix some bleach powder and 20 volume peroxide in a 1:1 ratio and add the same amount into your shampoo. Apply to your hair.
Check your hair every 5 minutes, don´t leave for more than 30 minutes
note: this method also affects your natural color.
4.Bleaching
5.Swim! it fades semi-permanent dye, and with repeated exposure it can fade a permanent one (just a little!)

well That´s it guys, hope you liked it.

Myth or miracle #1 : Bomb shampoo ( shampoo bomba)

Wednesday, February 26

Hi guys, long time no see..

Today i´m here with a big hair growth recipe that is  very known in Brazil, it is called "shampoo bomba" which claims to increase hair growth by 2 inches a month by mixing a normal shampoo with monovin a ( which is pure vitamin A for animals..) and liquid bepanthol, sounds really promising right ? well let´s get close into what this  does :

Salt free shampoo:
Because the salt will oxidize de vitamin A.

Monovin A:
Is a vitamin A super- concentrate used in horses, the reason why it is used on this shampoo is because it stops shedding, leaves the hair shinier and grows new hair.

Liquido bepanthol:
It contains panthenol (vitamin B5)

If you look for this recipe on the internet you´ll find a lot of good things about this, many girls rave about this but personally i think it is just "the placebo effect" also it is dangerous to use a product that is supposed to be for animals on you scalp but let me tell you something, I already tried this shampoo  but it was for the sake of the post right? haha anyway.. i measured my hair and i didn´t noticed any diferent rate of growth than the normal, my hair was really soft and shiny but this was because of the bepanthol which is really good for hair, that´s probably the reason why Bayer made liquid bepanthol for hair and skin right?

For conclusion i DON´T recommend you trying this recipe and if you are gonna do it consult a doctor first.

Grow your hair series number 2

Thursday, January 30

Well hello guys!

Today i'm coming with my seconds post of the grow your hair series and today weare talking about oils but not the oils that you but at ulta or something , i'm talking about the natural oils.

Let's start with the popular ones

Extra virgin Coconut oil:

If you want a thick, healthy mane this is the right one for you because Proper health and hair care go hand-in-hand when it comes to improving hair growth. The use of coconut oil protect and moisturize the scalp which leads to a faster hair growth. (Make sure it is evo coconut-oil)

Castor oil:
It can be used to stimulate the growth of hair and it is well known for that due to the rejuvenating properties that it haves.
Since it has a thick consistency i recommend you to mix it with a career oil ( olive , coconut or sweet almond oil)  in a half and half ratio. Part your hair and apply it to the scalp and hair  ,let  it sit for at least one hour i recommend to sleep on it if you can and wash it out in the morning. This sould be done 3 to 4 times a week for best results.

Sweet almond oil:
This natural oil contains Omega - 9 fatty acids, Omega - 6, and Omega - 3. If you hair damaged hair from chemical processes this is the oil for you!
There plenty of ways to apply it but my favorite one is to apply a fair amount of it all over my hair , let it sit for half a hour and wash it as i usually do.

Olive oil EVO:
It is made up of fatty acids taht will coat the shaft of your hair, helping to keep it healthy , i like to apply it the same way as the sweet almond one.

So, this is today's post later on i will talk about the essentials oil like lavender, peppermint etc. they are my favorites, i feel that they give that extra boost to hair growth.
