Pantogar review

Tuesday, September 16

Hi guys!

Guess who finally decided to show up? haha .. sorry for the very long lack of posts but i was really busy with school        ( the life of a med student :S)

Anyway, today i´m talking about my review of the very famous Pantogar

I took this pill for 6 months and honestly, i hated it! first of all it is really expensive, i spent almost $400 USD on this treatment, the first 3 months the only thing i noticed was my weight! this thing will make you really Hungry so obviously i gained some weight (that i haven´t been able to lose yet)

Now,talking about hair growth.. i didn´t noticed any particular growth , my hair grew at the same pase that it always does but it didn´t fell as much as it used to (while i was taking the pill)

If you research about this product on the web you´ll see a lot of people praising it , i guess every body is different, so you would have to try it yourself but i really wouldn´t recommend it.

If you have any questions about this product let me know!

*i didn´t post any progress picture because i was really disappointed with the product

Myth or miracle #3: Mane and tail shampoo and conditioner

Tuesday, May 6

Hello guys!

Today i´ll write a little about a really popular brand for hair growth: mane and tail

The mane and tail shampoo and conditioner got really popular a few years ago because it was supposed to increase hair growth like i said before, also it was a really different product because it was meant mostly for horses hair and who doesn´t want that thick long hair (kind of) that horses have?

Let´s talk about what the brand says
Well, now i´ll tell you what i think of it :

i´ve tried a lot of mane and tail versions but this time i´m talking about the first that came out, the original.

The shampoo leaves your hair squeaky clean which is probably one of the ways that it is supposed to increase hair growth, it also leaves the hair really shiny.

The conditioner on the other side is not very moisturizing, i didn´t like it.

Now, hair growth wise none of this products made my hair grow any faster  they just left my hair clean and shiny , that was about it.

So in my opinion this products are just another hair growth myth.

I´ve seen a lot of girls saying that it works wonders, what do you guys think?

Review: QuikStyle Paddle Brush

Sunday, April 27

Hi guys!

Today i´ll do a review of a paddle brush but not just any paddle brush , this one haves towel like bristles too, it promises to dry the hair up to 30% faster

Now let me tell you what i think of it, let´s start by how i use it:
first i towel dry my hair like i normally would , then i apply a leave- in conditioner and brush my hair with the wet brush (review here) and after that i´ll take the quikstyle paddle brush.

My hair takes in average 4 to 5 hours to get fully dry, since i started to use this brush my hair dries in about 3 to 4 hours which to me is awesome! i really love this product it works really nice and is easy to use .

what do you think? have you tried it?

Taking care of your hair on spring /summer

Monday, April 21

Hello!

Long time no see, right? sorry for the lack of posts but i went on vacation and my computer broke so i couldn´t post anything. On my trip i had to take some special care with my hair so i decided to share with you my tips for keeping your locks healthy. I know it´s a little late but summer is coming and some people live on really warm places so why not post this?

Let´s begin

1. Use leave in conditioner
if you are swimming on the beach or pool i recommend you to apply a lot of leave-in conditioner before and after it

2.Use sun designed hair products
there are plenty of them, they protect you hair from the sun and repair the damage that all of the spring/summer activities give and you have a huge list of options, swimmers shampoo, leave in conditioners , hair masks ,oils and some products are formulated with SPF for the hair!

3.Treat you hair
after all of the sun and chlorine your hair will need a special treat use a a nourishing or moisturizing mask

4.Wear a hat!
it will cover you hair from the sun and also make you look pretty!

5.Braid your hair
while you are in the sun or a windy place braid your hair or put it on a bun to avoid breakage from the wind and damage from the sun!

6.* Use a purple shampoo and/or color treated hair products
the sun can fade you hair color a lot so you´ll need al the help you can get also if you are a blonde your hair may turn green because f the chlorine on the pools, a purple shampoo can fix that.

With this tips you´ll be more than ready for a few days on the beach! hope it helps!

Top reconstructive hair masks

Monday, April 14

Hello!

So, i was thinking whether to do this post or not because every hair is different and also because i have a lot of favorite repairing masks but since all of us are doing a little "spring change" on our locks i thought it was a good idea to do it . also this masks are very good on almost any type of hair (i researched every mask)
so let´s begin

1.Loreal fiberceutic
I already have the review here so i'm not talking much about it. Except that i'll say that i like it better by itself (without the other part of the treatment) on amazon it's about 23 USD

2. Joico k-pak
In amazin this product is a total steal 6 USD like. This mask is very well known, it leaves the hair really soft and with a lot of body also it works really fast and smells really nice, like bananas , i recommend it for almost any type of hair, it's strong but not that much.

3. Sebastian penetraitt
This product is really good too but don't leave it in your hair for more that the suggested time or it will leave the hair really hard!? Because it is for more damaged hair 13.48 USD on amazon

4.Schwarzkopf bonacure repair rescue
Last but not least , one of my favorites it is recommended for damaged hair too like the one listed above but this mask doesn't leave the hair hard that fast. It is a little expensive 25 USD more or less but totally worth it.

And just for you guys to know all of this masks are really strong ( not just this ones , all of the reconstructive masks, a lot of protein in the hair is bad for it) so i recommend you to use them twice a month as much, specially the ones that i said were stronger

I hope this helped you out also this are the masks that i use for my capillary cronogram ( i'll do the second part of that post soon,i promise)

Rapunzel project: March

Sunday, April 13

Hi guys!

in case you didn't know this rapunzel projct updates are about my hair growth progress and the products that i used for that purpose , last month i said that i was going to use the crece pelo line which i already reviewed here .

I was supposed to write this update on march 28 but my hair didn't grow , not even a little (i measured it 3 times) that's why i didn't post it but i decided to do it anyway, even if i'ts a bit late ,just for having a true tracing.

I didn't took any pictures this time, the crece pelo line didn't work well for me, i still have alot of product left, maybe i'll try on the future.

On march i'm not using any special product , i'm just doing the capillary cronogram and using a redken shampoo, pretty normal routine. Except for the fact that i changed my diet to healthier one so the march "product" that i'm using is my new diet.

I'll have the update pretty soon!

Happy sunday guys!

Best split end sealers

Thursday, April 10

Hi guys!

New look on the blog, new post!
Today i'm coming with a top 5 of my favorite products for sealing those horrible split ends, pay attention : sealing not MENDING .once a split end is created it's impossible to heal it unless you cut it.

And since nobody wants to cut their hair (at least not me)  theres another chance with this products , what they do is that they glue your ends together ,avoiding future breakage while giving a healthier look and actually treating the hair.

Let's talk more about my top 5

1. Carol's daughter monoi repairing split ends $25 USD
This is a really good product , it nourishes the hair a lot and does it's job , it is the most expensive one so i wouldn't buy again.

2. Pantene keratin repair split ends sealer $9 USD
This product is awesome, it haves a good price and treats the hair really nicely.

3.Schwarzkopf bonacure repair sealed ends $11 USD
I love the whole repair rescue line, it's amazing how healthy the hair gets with this products, the split ends sealer is no exception, do i need to say more?

4.Garnier fructis goodbye damage (i don't remember the price very well, sorry but it's no more than 10)
This product lasted forever a little goes a long way so if you wanna save some money it's a great option.

5.Tresemme split remedy
This was the first i tried it haves a yummy frutty smell and it just glues the split ends, i didn't felt it treating my hair so it's a good option for girls with hair that is not that damaged.

So thats it, would you like to cut your hair or use some of this ? LOL
Have you tried any?

*the prices may vary i bought  them at ULTA or amazon.

Marc Anthony easy-lites UPDATED REVIEW

Thursday, April 3

Hi!
As you may know i already reviewed this product (here) and on that review i showed you the before and after photos  displaying that the product actually works and that it actually is very easy to use and also affordable.

But i also told you that the product barely damaged the hair and that is why i´m doing this update ,after a week of applying it (more or less) i began to notice a huge amount of split ends.

Sorry that it took so long for writing this update it´s just that i kept forgetting about it , this product is just for quick touch ups NOT for highlighting your whole head or trying to do an ombre ok? if you want any of that you should go to a salon or buy one of those highlighting kits if you don´t wanna end with fried ends.

Best and worst dry shampoos and DIY

Wednesday, April 2

Hello everyone!

Today i´m doing a little sum up of my the best and worst dry shampoos that i´ve tried and show you how to do your own!

By far my favorite one is the oribe but since it´s a little pricey and i don´t always have the money for it i have found some other ones like the psssst! and the batiste one but for my convenience i like the batiste that is for brunettes or the not your mothers which doesn´t work that well like the other that i just mentioned but it leaves less of that white residue.

The worst that i´ve tried is the tresemme one which is weird because they always make really good products, i guess this dry shampoo is the exception i even gave it to my sister and she hated it.

now let´s move to the DIY part

1/4 cup cornstarch
essential oil ( this is optional)

mix the ingredients together and store it on a jar.

2 tsp cocoa powder
2 tsp cornstarch
essential oil ( optional)

mix the ingredients together and store it on a jar.

This is not an actual recipe but this is what works best for me (i´m brunette) because it doesn´t leave any residue and works very well also it´s really cheap.

are you ready??

Yes! baby powder , haha it works very well.

Have you tried any of this? leave on the comments below.

Review: Macadamia natural oil mask dupe

Monday, March 31

Yesterday i was checking pinterest and i saw a lot of pins talking about dupes for the macadamia natural oil mask (which is awesome!) there were a lot of different masks but the most popular dupe was the organix one so i decided to see if thats true since i already had that mask waiting to be opened , let´s see if it is a true dupe or not.

Ok let´s start by the smell each mask have a different smells the organix one is not the same as the macadamia but both of them are pleasant, talking about the texture the macadamia one is a bit thicker.

About the waiting time the macadamia one says to allow up to 7 minutes and the organix for 3 to 5 or 20 if your hair is really dry after that time when you are washing out the mask  the macadamia made my hair feel really soft , the organix one not so much.

The price, oh the beloved price!
well at ULTA the macadamia natural oil mask is 33 USD for the 8.5 oz pot and the organix one with 8oz for 7.99 USD, what a difference, right?

But let´s talk about the really important thing , the results.

The macadamia mask leaves my hair like no other mask, i mean it i haven´t tried one that leaves my hair so soft not even kerastase masks.
The organix mask leaves my hair shiny ,healthy  and thick (which i love because my hair is really thin) but not like the macadamia one, i think they are NOT actual dupes but if you don´t want to splurge on the macadamia mask the organix one is perfect for you! for being a drugstore mask i think it is really good and competes with some higher end masks

i recommend you this mask if you want a cheaper alternative for the macadamia natural oil mask but i restate the macadamia oil by organix is not a dupe for the macadamia natural oil, it is just a good alternative.

So this is my opinion , do you think the same about this dupes?

Review and step by step Loreal fiberceutic (Hair Botox)

Saturday, March 22

Hi guys!

Today i´m gonna do a review of one of my favorite products, this is a reconstructing treatment that i like a lot  (it´s NOT  for using it on the capillary cronogram because it is really strong)  but i recommend it  just for people with really damaged hair.

Let´s see what the brand says:

First i´m gonna tell you the step by step and then i´ll go with the review.

1.wash your hair with loreal absolut repair or loreal force vector , for best results ( If you
don´t  have them you can use whatever you have)
2.towel dry your hair and apply the hair filling serum with the plastic syringe that comes with the product piece by piece
3.wait 5 minutes and don´t wash
4.apply the mask that you chose for your type of hair (fine or thick)
5.wait 5 more minutes
6.wash

This treatment lasts for about 10 washes and you are supposed to use it every 3 months.

Now let´s start the review, well i already said that i really like it but let me tell you why, my hair feels very strong and thick, with a lot of body and this product is perfect for you if you feel that your hair is weak, it strenghtens it like magic! and besides it is really fast to apply.

Review: Tresemme expert dose ampola blindagem platinum

Friday, March 14

Hi!
Today i´m with a review again, this time it´s with a drugstore product which in case you
didn´t know i don´t like very much but the packaging catched my eye so i had to buy it, it was cheap anyway $6 (US)

It comes with 3 little bottles of 12 ml each for my hair i used half of a little bottle so a little goes a long way, honestly i tought i wouldn´t work but oh surprise! it works like a charm , my hair got really soft with the first use and i loved it.

Talking about the capillary cronogram i still don´t know in wich phase i would use this product because i don´t feel that it actually reconstruct the hair like a reconstructive mask so i´m thinking that it probably is more on the moisture phase, i don´t know that yet so i´ll let you know after checking each ingredient.

Anyway i really recommend you this product if you are in a budget and you want a nice soft hair, in my opinion Tresemme is one of the best drugstore hair products on the market, every product that i´ve used of this brand is great.

Have you guys tried it? let me know what you think

Review: It´s a 10 miracle leave-in conditioner

Thursday, March 13

Hi guys!

Today i´ll do a review about the it´s a 10 miracle leave-in like you already know (ha!), first
let´s see what the brand says about it

i´m going to review every point that the brand claims it does according to my personal experience

1.repair dry damaged hair :
I don´t think so
2.Adds shine :
didn´t noticed that
3.Detangles:
this is for sure the best thing the product does , my hair got kind of creamy every time i used it and i barely had knots,
4.Thermal styling protection:
in my opinion you really can´t tell the level of protection of any product of this kind so i guess that if they claim it , it haves thermal protection.
5.seals and protects hair color:
my hair is natural
6.prevents split ends:
i don´t know if it does that, i have a lot of split ends but i always had them because when i tried this product i had 1 year and a half without cutting my hair
7.Stops hair breakage:
Same as above
8.Creates silkiness:
a lot of it.
9.Enhances natural body:
didn´t noticed that
10.Flat iron spray and thermal protector:
same as number 4

Ok so in general i wouldn´t buy this product again because in my opinion it does probably 4 out of the 10 things it claims and it is a little expensive for what it does that is basically detangle your hair though it does very well.

Heatless waves

Wednesday, March 12

Hello!

Today i´m gonna show you some of my favorites ways to do waves with no heat! Let´s get started
(the procedure is the same in every one)

1. with a bun
when your hair is 70% dry do one or two buns , depending on the thickness of your hair and let it dry, if you are in a rush you can blow dry it .. or you can sleep on it if you shower at night.

2. with braids
same as the last one but with braids, you can do as many as you want.

3. with fishtail braids
this is my favorite, because this dries into more natural waves.

4.with a sock bun
for more loose waves.

5.with twists
same as the other ones with 70% dry hair , divide your hair in 2 parts (or as many as you want) and twist it the pin it with a clip and sleep on it, it looks like milkmaid braids but with twists.

6. with twists ( second way)
whit 60%dry hair , divide and twist it, leave it like that until dry, loose the twist and thats it! :)

so those were some of my favorites ways to heatless waves, i still know some more if you want more let me know, also if you want i can show you how each technique will look like.

Review : The wet brush

Thursday, March 6

Like you can see today i´m talking about the wet brush and let me tell you something, i used to like a lot my old wide tooth comb but after giving   a try to this brush i loved it ! my hair gets really knotty on the nape of my head when it´s dry and this is the easiest solution to that problem ( instead of ripping my hair with my hand or a normal brush) but i know this brush is not the main thing , so let´s talk about of the main purpose of this brush

Well, about the wet hair i don´t have really knotty hair when wet but when i do it works great , i don´t feel the the bristles son hard on my scalp like with a normal brush, probably that´s why it doesnt damage the hair that much but let me tell you even if it is made for wet hair that doesnt mean it is not going to cause breakage, wet hair is fragile.

and about if it works on extensions or wigs, i had extensions i few years ago and it works better than a normal brush but not better than a brush that its speccially made for hair extensions.

for finishing the post i´d definitely recommend you to try this product.

Capillary cronogram (cronograma capilar) part 1

Friday, February 28

Hi guys!
Since i decided to start the rapunzel project i have to do it on the best way possible so today i´m gonna write about something that i really like for taking care of my hair, i discovered this last year because of a cousin of mine that lives in Brazil, The capillary cronogram is very famous around the brazilian girls and now i know why, let´s start.

It is a cronogram that you are supposed to do 3 times a week by using a hair mask that contains moisturizing, nourishing and repairing ingredients,no matter how many times a week you wash your hair.

For this you need to know which ingredients belong to each phase

Moisture:
All hair masks that contains plants, sugar, chocolate etc
Nourish:
any type of oils
Repair:
any type of protein

Well in this case the first found ingredient  on the label is the most concentrated  ( this apply in every product) so by that you can know what is your type of mask, for example let´s talk about the really famous Macadamia deep repair masque ,

The first 9 ingredients are one of the most   commons on hair masks so  don´t mind them right know but right after that it haves  macadamia seed oil and other oil that  means  that this mask is actually a Nourishing one and not a repairing  like the  product says on the front.

On the next post i´ll explain this a little more but let´s move on to the cronogram, this is the original one, if it is your first time doing i recommend you to start with this one

But after some time i started noticing what my hair actually needs and this is the cronogram that i follow, i saw it on a brazilian blog "http://prettypoison.com.br" and i decided to try it and it works really well on my hair

well girls for not making this post longer than how it already is i decided to divided in two, on the next post i´ll explain a little more about how to identify the ingredients on each mask and the effect that each phase leaves on the hair.
