Taking care of your hair on spring /summer

Monday, April 21

Hello!

Long time no see, right? sorry for the lack of posts but i went on vacation and my computer broke so i couldn´t post anything. On my trip i had to take some special care with my hair so i decided to share with you my tips for keeping your locks healthy. I know it´s a little late but summer is coming and some people live on really warm places so why not post this?

Let´s begin

1. Use leave in conditioner
if you are swimming on the beach or pool i recommend you to apply a lot of leave-in conditioner before and after it

2.Use sun designed hair products
there are plenty of them, they protect you hair from the sun and repair the damage that all of the spring/summer activities give and you have a huge list of options, swimmers shampoo, leave in conditioners , hair masks ,oils and some products are formulated with SPF for the hair!

3.Treat you hair
after all of the sun and chlorine your hair will need a special treat use a a nourishing or moisturizing mask

4.Wear a hat!
it will cover you hair from the sun and also make you look pretty!

5.Braid your hair
while you are in the sun or a windy place braid your hair or put it on a bun to avoid breakage from the wind and damage from the sun!

6.* Use a purple shampoo and/or color treated hair products
the sun can fade you hair color a lot so you´ll need al the help you can get also if you are a blonde your hair may turn green because f the chlorine on the pools, a purple shampoo can fix that.

With this tips you´ll be more than ready for a few days on the beach! hope it helps!

Best and worst dry shampoos and DIY

Wednesday, April 2

Hello everyone!

Today i´m doing a little sum up of my the best and worst dry shampoos that i´ve tried and show you how to do your own!

By far my favorite one is the oribe but since it´s a little pricey and i don´t always have the money for it i have found some other ones like the psssst! and the batiste one but for my convenience i like the batiste that is for brunettes or the not your mothers which doesn´t work that well like the other that i just mentioned but it leaves less of that white residue.

The worst that i´ve tried is the tresemme one which is weird because they always make really good products, i guess this dry shampoo is the exception i even gave it to my sister and she hated it.

now let´s move to the DIY part

1/4 cup cornstarch
essential oil ( this is optional)

mix the ingredients together and store it on a jar.

2 tsp cocoa powder
2 tsp cornstarch
essential oil ( optional)

mix the ingredients together and store it on a jar.

This is not an actual recipe but this is what works best for me (i´m brunette) because it doesn´t leave any residue and works very well also it´s really cheap.

are you ready??

Yes! baby powder , haha it works very well.

Have you tried any of this? leave on the comments below.

stopping sugar cravings

Thursday, March 27

Hello guys!

As you may know (or not) im trying to lose some weight and i think i´m going pretty well for now because i´m managing my sweet tooth which is what made me gain that extra weight.

So i´m gonna tell you what I do to reduce my sugary craves

1.drink a green smoothie on the morning
believe it or not this had work very well for me, if i start my day healthy and with all the nutrients that i need i don´t crave sugar so much! i have a few recipes in my blog if you want to check them or you can always google some, there are plenty of them.

2. eat less sugar
(duh!) but i noticed that if i had less sugar i wouldn´t crave it as much as if a had a chocolate bar ( or two..) throughout the day.

3.eat a healthy diet and plan your meals
by planning my meals i distracted my mind of the sweets and if you eat healthy i swear you won´t have cravings! you´ll have all the nutrients you need

4.find healthy alternatives
if you must have something sweet try to eat something like dark chocolate or search for healthy desserts , i´ll post some of my favorites somewhere around next week.

Those were my tips i hope they help you out!

Review and step by step Loreal fiberceutic (Hair Botox)

Saturday, March 22

Hi guys!

Today i´m gonna do a review of one of my favorite products, this is a reconstructing treatment that i like a lot  (it´s NOT  for using it on the capillary cronogram because it is really strong)  but i recommend it  just for people with really damaged hair.

Let´s see what the brand says:

First i´m gonna tell you the step by step and then i´ll go with the review.

1.wash your hair with loreal absolut repair or loreal force vector , for best results ( If you
don´t  have them you can use whatever you have)
2.towel dry your hair and apply the hair filling serum with the plastic syringe that comes with the product piece by piece
3.wait 5 minutes and don´t wash
4.apply the mask that you chose for your type of hair (fine or thick)
5.wait 5 more minutes
6.wash

This treatment lasts for about 10 washes and you are supposed to use it every 3 months.

Now let´s start the review, well i already said that i really like it but let me tell you why, my hair feels very strong and thick, with a lot of body and this product is perfect for you if you feel that your hair is weak, it strenghtens it like magic! and besides it is really fast to apply.

Heatless waves

Wednesday, March 12

Hello!

Today i´m gonna show you some of my favorites ways to do waves with no heat! Let´s get started
(the procedure is the same in every one)

1. with a bun
when your hair is 70% dry do one or two buns , depending on the thickness of your hair and let it dry, if you are in a rush you can blow dry it .. or you can sleep on it if you shower at night.

2. with braids
same as the last one but with braids, you can do as many as you want.

3. with fishtail braids
this is my favorite, because this dries into more natural waves.

4.with a sock bun
for more loose waves.

5.with twists
same as the other ones with 70% dry hair , divide your hair in 2 parts (or as many as you want) and twist it the pin it with a clip and sleep on it, it looks like milkmaid braids but with twists.

6. with twists ( second way)
whit 60%dry hair , divide and twist it, leave it like that until dry, loose the twist and thats it! :)

so those were some of my favorites ways to heatless waves, i still know some more if you want more let me know, also if you want i can show you how each technique will look like.

Review and step by step : Loreal x-tenso moisturist

Wednesday, November 27

what  the brand says ?
X-Tenso® Moisturist™ transforms rebellious, curly, wavy, or frizzy hair to smooth, beautifully silky and shiny hair for up to 60 days. X-Tenso® Moisturist™ is designed to give a "natural-looking" finish. You can choose how smooth you want to go depending on the final result you desire.

important information

Let me tell you that this is a permanent process, the brand says that it last up to 60 days , yeah depending on your hair type, on me it lasted for about a year before i had to retouch it  and because this is permanent the only way to take it out  is cutting your hair  , thats why you have to retouch just the roots .

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, i did the x-tenso treatment a long time ago with a professional hairdresser in Brasil, near Copacabana  but my roots have grown a lot and it was time to retouch it.
Here where i live i haven´t seen a salon that offers this treatment i´ve just seen it on some beauty supplies so i bought them it was about $40 (dollars) for both the neutralizer and the cream.

When i did it with a hairdresser my hair got pin straight but on a pretty way , really glossy , just  a little damaged but when i did it my self it wasn´t that straight it was with a bit more wave but not too much , straighter than a 2A type ( by the way my natural hair is a 2B type "wavy curvy" from my ears down) and i didn´t got the glossy effect that i got the first time :/

* if you don´t know about the types of hair that i´m talking check them here
http://www.naturallycurly.com/hair-types

Overall this is a really good product if you know how to use it , since i did it myself i was searching the how-to of this product but every site had a different way to use it but i kept researching until i found a  tech manual  from loreal on the right way to do it in case that you want to do it yourself or just to know if you hairdresser knows what he´s doing :)

Resenha e paso a paso : Loreal x-tenso ( primeira parte)

1. reduzir o volume
2. efeito escova progressiva  brasileira
3.efeito alisado japoneis
