Pantogar review

Tuesday, September 16

Hi guys!

Guess who finally decided to show up? haha .. sorry for the very long lack of posts but i was really busy with school        ( the life of a med student :S)

Anyway, today i´m talking about my review of the very famous Pantogar

I took this pill for 6 months and honestly, i hated it! first of all it is really expensive, i spent almost $400 USD on this treatment, the first 3 months the only thing i noticed was my weight! this thing will make you really Hungry so obviously i gained some weight (that i haven´t been able to lose yet)

Now,talking about hair growth.. i didn´t noticed any particular growth , my hair grew at the same pase that it always does but it didn´t fell as much as it used to (while i was taking the pill)

If you research about this product on the web you´ll see a lot of people praising it , i guess every body is different, so you would have to try it yourself but i really wouldn´t recommend it.

If you have any questions about this product let me know!

*i didn´t post any progress picture because i was really disappointed with the product

Myth or miracle #3: Mane and tail shampoo and conditioner

Tuesday, May 6

Hello guys!

Today i´ll write a little about a really popular brand for hair growth: mane and tail

The mane and tail shampoo and conditioner got really popular a few years ago because it was supposed to increase hair growth like i said before, also it was a really different product because it was meant mostly for horses hair and who doesn´t want that thick long hair (kind of) that horses have?

Let´s talk about what the brand says
Well, now i´ll tell you what i think of it :

i´ve tried a lot of mane and tail versions but this time i´m talking about the first that came out, the original.

The shampoo leaves your hair squeaky clean which is probably one of the ways that it is supposed to increase hair growth, it also leaves the hair really shiny.

The conditioner on the other side is not very moisturizing, i didn´t like it.

Now, hair growth wise none of this products made my hair grow any faster  they just left my hair clean and shiny , that was about it.

So in my opinion this products are just another hair growth myth.

I´ve seen a lot of girls saying that it works wonders, what do you guys think?

Review: Macadamia natural oil mask dupe

Monday, March 31

Yesterday i was checking pinterest and i saw a lot of pins talking about dupes for the macadamia natural oil mask (which is awesome!) there were a lot of different masks but the most popular dupe was the organix one so i decided to see if thats true since i already had that mask waiting to be opened , let´s see if it is a true dupe or not.

Ok let´s start by the smell each mask have a different smells the organix one is not the same as the macadamia but both of them are pleasant, talking about the texture the macadamia one is a bit thicker.

About the waiting time the macadamia one says to allow up to 7 minutes and the organix for 3 to 5 or 20 if your hair is really dry after that time when you are washing out the mask  the macadamia made my hair feel really soft , the organix one not so much.

The price, oh the beloved price!
well at ULTA the macadamia natural oil mask is 33 USD for the 8.5 oz pot and the organix one with 8oz for 7.99 USD, what a difference, right?

But let´s talk about the really important thing , the results.

The macadamia mask leaves my hair like no other mask, i mean it i haven´t tried one that leaves my hair so soft not even kerastase masks.
The organix mask leaves my hair shiny ,healthy  and thick (which i love because my hair is really thin) but not like the macadamia one, i think they are NOT actual dupes but if you don´t want to splurge on the macadamia mask the organix one is perfect for you! for being a drugstore mask i think it is really good and competes with some higher end masks

i recommend you this mask if you want a cheaper alternative for the macadamia natural oil mask but i restate the macadamia oil by organix is not a dupe for the macadamia natural oil, it is just a good alternative.

So this is my opinion , do you think the same about this dupes?

Myth or miracle #2: Crece pelo boe

Sunday, March 30

Hello!

Today i´m gonna do my second myth or miracle and this one is about a pretty well raved product from dominican republic, crece pelo by boe

I started using this product two months ago because i saw really good results on the internet specially one from the brazilian blogger duda fernandes.

i started by measuring my hair before anything, like i always do, then i kept using it washing my hair 4 times a week with the shampoo and the mask.

first time using it (shampoo and mask)  i noticed my hair kind of poofy not frizzy just "poofy" but i kept using it , then after a month i started to see my hair really dry but really really dry with ends like this

I kid you not! this is a microscopic view but all the ends of my hair looked like that and no, i
don´t use heat on my hair and i haven´t been color treating my hair for a while so i  said to my self:
ok i´m gonna finish the two months to see the results , today i measured my hair and my hair is 1cm SHORTER! than it was before, i mean ?!! i heard that this product really dries your hair but also i heard that it was supposed to make it grow longer not shorter!

This is shocking to me because on the blog that i told you earlier the girl shows a really beautiful long shiny hair, i know her hair was already that shiny and pretty  without the crece pelo but in the photos of her review you can see all the growth that she got! and she even says that it works like a charm!

On other reviews the girls say that it have worked BUT i can´t see any particular growth. anyway i guess every hair is different right?

For me it didn´t worked and i still have half a bottle of shampoo and almost all the mask because i got the bigger one and a little goes a long way so i think i´m gonna give it to a friend for her to try out so i can review this product with other type of hair.

I personally would not recommend it but if you want to give it a try you sure can!

Have you tried it? let me know

Review: It´s a 10 miracle leave-in conditioner

Thursday, March 13

Hi guys!

Today i´ll do a review about the it´s a 10 miracle leave-in like you already know (ha!), first
let´s see what the brand says about it

i´m going to review every point that the brand claims it does according to my personal experience

1.repair dry damaged hair :
I don´t think so
2.Adds shine :
didn´t noticed that
3.Detangles:
this is for sure the best thing the product does , my hair got kind of creamy every time i used it and i barely had knots,
4.Thermal styling protection:
in my opinion you really can´t tell the level of protection of any product of this kind so i guess that if they claim it , it haves thermal protection.
5.seals and protects hair color:
my hair is natural
6.prevents split ends:
i don´t know if it does that, i have a lot of split ends but i always had them because when i tried this product i had 1 year and a half without cutting my hair
7.Stops hair breakage:
Same as above
8.Creates silkiness:
a lot of it.
9.Enhances natural body:
didn´t noticed that
10.Flat iron spray and thermal protector:
same as number 4

Ok so in general i wouldn´t buy this product again because in my opinion it does probably 4 out of the 10 things it claims and it is a little expensive for what it does that is basically detangle your hair though it does very well.

Review : The wet brush

Thursday, March 6

Like you can see today i´m talking about the wet brush and let me tell you something, i used to like a lot my old wide tooth comb but after giving   a try to this brush i loved it ! my hair gets really knotty on the nape of my head when it´s dry and this is the easiest solution to that problem ( instead of ripping my hair with my hand or a normal brush) but i know this brush is not the main thing , so let´s talk about of the main purpose of this brush

Well, about the wet hair i don´t have really knotty hair when wet but when i do it works great , i don´t feel the the bristles son hard on my scalp like with a normal brush, probably that´s why it doesnt damage the hair that much but let me tell you even if it is made for wet hair that doesnt mean it is not going to cause breakage, wet hair is fragile.

and about if it works on extensions or wigs, i had extensions i few years ago and it works better than a normal brush but not better than a brush that its speccially made for hair extensions.

for finishing the post i´d definitely recommend you to try this product.

Capillary cronogram (cronograma capilar) part 1

Friday, February 28

Hi guys!
Since i decided to start the rapunzel project i have to do it on the best way possible so today i´m gonna write about something that i really like for taking care of my hair, i discovered this last year because of a cousin of mine that lives in Brazil, The capillary cronogram is very famous around the brazilian girls and now i know why, let´s start.

It is a cronogram that you are supposed to do 3 times a week by using a hair mask that contains moisturizing, nourishing and repairing ingredients,no matter how many times a week you wash your hair.

For this you need to know which ingredients belong to each phase

Moisture:
All hair masks that contains plants, sugar, chocolate etc
Nourish:
any type of oils
Repair:
any type of protein

Well in this case the first found ingredient  on the label is the most concentrated  ( this apply in every product) so by that you can know what is your type of mask, for example let´s talk about the really famous Macadamia deep repair masque ,

The first 9 ingredients are one of the most   commons on hair masks so  don´t mind them right know but right after that it haves  macadamia seed oil and other oil that  means  that this mask is actually a Nourishing one and not a repairing  like the  product says on the front.

On the next post i´ll explain this a little more but let´s move on to the cronogram, this is the original one, if it is your first time doing i recommend you to start with this one

But after some time i started noticing what my hair actually needs and this is the cronogram that i follow, i saw it on a brazilian blog "http://prettypoison.com.br" and i decided to try it and it works really well on my hair

well girls for not making this post longer than how it already is i decided to divided in two, on the next post i´ll explain a little more about how to identify the ingredients on each mask and the effect that each phase leaves on the hair.

Myth or miracle #1 : Bomb shampoo ( shampoo bomba)

Wednesday, February 26

Hi guys, long time no see..

Today i´m here with a big hair growth recipe that is  very known in Brazil, it is called "shampoo bomba" which claims to increase hair growth by 2 inches a month by mixing a normal shampoo with monovin a ( which is pure vitamin A for animals..) and liquid bepanthol, sounds really promising right ? well let´s get close into what this  does :

Salt free shampoo:
Because the salt will oxidize de vitamin A.

Monovin A:
Is a vitamin A super- concentrate used in horses, the reason why it is used on this shampoo is because it stops shedding, leaves the hair shinier and grows new hair.

Liquido bepanthol:
It contains panthenol (vitamin B5)

If you look for this recipe on the internet you´ll find a lot of good things about this, many girls rave about this but personally i think it is just "the placebo effect" also it is dangerous to use a product that is supposed to be for animals on you scalp but let me tell you something, I already tried this shampoo  but it was for the sake of the post right? haha anyway.. i measured my hair and i didn´t noticed any diferent rate of growth than the normal, my hair was really soft and shiny but this was because of the bepanthol which is really good for hair, that´s probably the reason why Bayer made liquid bepanthol for hair and skin right?

For conclusion i DON´T recommend you trying this recipe and if you are gonna do it consult a doctor first.

Grow your hair series number 2

Thursday, January 30

Well hello guys!

Today i'm coming with my seconds post of the grow your hair series and today weare talking about oils but not the oils that you but at ulta or something , i'm talking about the natural oils.

Let's start with the popular ones

Extra virgin Coconut oil:

If you want a thick, healthy mane this is the right one for you because Proper health and hair care go hand-in-hand when it comes to improving hair growth. The use of coconut oil protect and moisturize the scalp which leads to a faster hair growth. (Make sure it is evo coconut-oil)

Castor oil:
It can be used to stimulate the growth of hair and it is well known for that due to the rejuvenating properties that it haves.
Since it has a thick consistency i recommend you to mix it with a career oil ( olive , coconut or sweet almond oil)  in a half and half ratio. Part your hair and apply it to the scalp and hair  ,let  it sit for at least one hour i recommend to sleep on it if you can and wash it out in the morning. This sould be done 3 to 4 times a week for best results.

Sweet almond oil:
This natural oil contains Omega - 9 fatty acids, Omega - 6, and Omega - 3. If you hair damaged hair from chemical processes this is the oil for you!
There plenty of ways to apply it but my favorite one is to apply a fair amount of it all over my hair , let it sit for half a hour and wash it as i usually do.

Olive oil EVO:
It is made up of fatty acids taht will coat the shaft of your hair, helping to keep it healthy , i like to apply it the same way as the sweet almond one.

So, this is today's post later on i will talk about the essentials oil like lavender, peppermint etc. they are my favorites, i feel that they give that extra boost to hair growth.

Grow your hair series: vitamins

Friday, November 29

Today i'm starting a new thing in my blog

2 years ago i chopped my hair , i liked it for about two months then i got tired and since then i'm trying to grow it out , searching all over the internet for tips and trying everything.

Now i'm going to share with you the ones that actually worked ( at least on me)

*Tip
I recommend you to grab ang old shirt and  draw lines on it every inch , on that way you can check your growth every month or you can just take some photos.
If you do that you'll have an idea if your hair is growing and if it actually works for you.

The tip that i'm sharing on this post will be about vitamins

I noticed a big change on my hair when i stopped taking them , my hair ( and nails)got a lot stronger and the most important for me : i gained some centimeters more on my average growth , i recommend you the follow ones

Vitamin e :
it causes capillary growth. The increased circulation speeds the growth of hair . It can prevent split ends and help heal hair damaged by excessive use of a hair dryer.

Cod liver oil and omega 3:

provide essential nutrients for good overall health and will ensure that your scalp and hair follicles are getting all the necessary nutrients for effective growth.

Biotin :
increases nail and eyelash growth and can be a great treatment for people who are suffering from eczema.

Hydrolyzed collagen: (my favorite)
Increases elasticity in hair.

Spirullina algae: ( my favorite)
is proven to have positive effects for those dealing with hair loss. Since Spirulina strengthens the immune system and its antioxidant effects have positive benefits for hair growth. It also helps with dandruff.

* before taking any of this vitamins consult a doctor and don't and don't overdo the maximum dose.
